Book Event: The Pig in Thin Air

July 5, 2016 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Join the author as he returns to Toronto for a reading and discussion from his new book, The Pig in Thin Air. The book is both road trip and family memoir; it’s an account, theoretical, practical, and deeply personal, of the author’s transformation from a meat-eater to an animal activist. How can we, he asks, in an era of climate change, develop deeper, more authentic and compassionate relationships with all other animals, including ourselves, to bring about the end of exploitative, environmentally-catastrophic agricultural practices.

As one Amazon reviewer put it: “Once I started reading it I could hardly put it down … whether you have some experience of activism and the animal agriculture industry or none at all there is lots to think about when reading this. Very inspiring.”

The evening brings together activists, readers, writers, vegans, runners, and all those interested in the human–animal bond. All welcome and free of course! Books available to buy on the night.

Room 8214 in OISE, 252 Bloor St. West, is just above St George subway.
