World Save Day Vigil

August 28, 2016 @ 12:00 pm - August 29, 2016 @ 11:00 pm

Join us on August 28-29, 2016 for the inaugural #WorldSaveDay. Toronto Pig Save will be participating in worldwide vigils alongside over 50 Save Groups from around the world. This is the Save Movement’s first World Save Day. We will be bearing witness to the pigs, chickens, and cows on Tolstoy’s birthday, who stated that we all have a duty not to turn away but to look and bear witness. Tolstoy has inspired www.TheSaveMovement.org with a love-based, nonviolent community organizing approach.

When the suffering of another creature causes you to feel pain, do not submit to the initial desire to flee from the suffering one but on the contrary, come closer, as close as you can to him/her who suffers and try to help him/her.”
– Tolstoy (A Calendar of Wisdom)
