Adopt A Bus Shelter

November 6, 2016 - November 19, 2016

Looking for EASY ACTIVISM??!! Not comfortable speaking to fur wearers? Work schedule keeping you from doing outreach at a school or from attending other events? Well this is just for you!! Over the past month we have focussed much of our anti-fur outreach on high school students in the hopes that we can convince these young, open-minded people to not buy fur. The reception has been super positive! The problem is there are so many schools and we can’t possibly reach them all so we need your help! All you have to do is ‘adopt ‘ a bus shelter (or stop) near a school in your neighbourhood or near your work and post anti-fur (and vegan) leaflets in it! So easy! Keep leaflets with you at all times so that you can check on your shelter every now and then. In this way, you can expose many, many young people to the faces of fur. You may choose to ‘adopt’ other places as well, like community bulletin boards or dog parks – anywhere people will see your leaflets! The key is to get as many activists as possible spreading the anti-fur message to all corners of the city and to as many young people as possible! Post a photo of your ‘adoptee’ to inspire others and help all of us feel supported!

Living in Toronto in winter is really depressing when nearly every other person seems to be wearing Canada Goose. Sometimes it feels like we cannot win the battle. But we are on the right side of justice, and small acts of activism, done by many, might possibly bring huge rewards!

Where can you get leaflets? Pick some up at the March Against the Fur Trade coming up on Saturday or contact Tom Tkach, Jenny McQueen, or me.

Note: Please check the Facebook event page for updates.

Special Note: To those who plan to continue High-School Outreach, please let Tom Tkach and me know if you need buttons and leaflets!
