Ribfest Protest: Bowmanville

It’s that time of year again… death fest season
ACTIVISTS PLEASE READ:

WHAT: Protesting the Rotary Club Rib festival in Bowmanville

WHERE: Clarington Fields (2375 Baseline Rd, Bowmanville)

WHEN: Saturday June 9, 1200-1800
AND Sunday June 10, 1200-1600

WHY: The Rotary Clubs advocates for a few of the following causes; peace, fighting disease, and saving mothers and children. They cannot promote peace by serving our community the dead bodies of several million sentient non human beings. Beings who were brutally murdered, who just wanted to live in peace. They cannot promote health because eating meat has been proven to cause disease and illness. The World Health Organization classifies processed meat as a class 1 carcinogen (meaning its proven to cause cancer in humans), and red meat as a class 2 carcinogen. There is a plethora amount of evidence supporting the fact that a meat and dairy diet causes cancer, heart disease, diabetes, and obesity. The Rotary Club cannot promote saving mothers and children while serving their dead bodies to our community. The pigs served were mothers and children, the cows milk served was made from a mother who was unable to care and feed her child. The Rotary Club contradicts their own beliefs by hosting ‘rib fests’.
It’s time to end these barbaric events for all the non human animals who are killed every year. We can promote all the same ideologies as the Rotary but NOT serve dead animals to our beloved community.
