The Rise of Animal Rights Law

November 6, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

The Department of Political Science and Niagara Action for Animals present Camille Labchuk, Animal Rights Lawyer and Executive Director, Animal Justice. Most people are outraged by stories about animal abuse, yet paradoxically, Canada has the worst animal protection laws in the western world. But with animal issues currently grabbing news headlines, it has become impossible for the legal system to ignore their suffering. This talk will explore the legal status of animals in Canada and how each of us can play a role in improving the laws protecting them. Venue is South Block (Academic South) 204, Brock University, St. Catharines.
