Evolve Our Prison Farms – Sanctuary or Slaughterhouse?

Evolve Our Prison Farms was founded in 2016 by Calvin Neufeld and Calvin will be speaking about this project. Evolve is a 100% volunteer-run, supported by experts in law, criminology, environmental science, labour studies, social work and animal therapy, as well as hundreds of prisoners and thousands of Canadians. Evolve Our Prison Farms supports plant-based “green” agriculture which could be coupled with a recognized model of animal-assisted therapy (no slaughter or farming of animals). We oppose the government’s intention to establish prison beef and dairy operations, and using prisoners to butcher animals in an onsite prison abattoir.
