Imagine the Ocean Without: Saving The Baby Harp Seals
JOIN SEA SHEPHERD’S FIGHT TO SAVE THE OCEANS – DOING WHAT OTHERS CAN’T OR WON’T.
Enjoy an afternoon in honour of the “whitecoat” baby harp seals. Ticket includes a delicious vegan banquet, free wine & beer, silent auction featuring unique, one-of-a-kind items, and much more!
– Captain Paul Watson will be making an exclusive live appearance via Skype!
Captain Watson’s passion to save the seals began at the age of nine when he first saw the evidence of the seal hunt – witnessing vivid, scarlet-on-white images. Watson’s book “SEAL WARS: Twenty-Five Years on the Front Lines with the Harp Seals” chronicles a history of the seal hunt and recounts the numerous campaigns he has led. Spending time in prison, debating politicians, and putting his life on the line.
– Operation Ice Watch talk and Q&A with Campaign Leader Brigitte Breau and Media Videographer Marketa Schusterova:
Sea Shepherd’s Operation Ice Watch was launched in March 2017 in the Gulf of St. Lawrence, Eastern Canada, commemorating the 40th Anniversary of Brigitte Bardot’s visit to the ice floes in 1977, to oppose the slaughter of baby harp seals.
The 2017 campaign brought actress and activist Michelle Rodriguez to the ice floes and alerted the world to some of the worst ice conditions ever seen.
Solid ice is critical to the survival of seals, but the ice floes are thinning, breaking and melting – drowning newborn seals. The crew described the scene as “an ecological disaster.”
WE CAN’T IMAGINE THE OCEAN WITHOUT BABY HARP SEALS. CAN YOU?

A passionate Earth and ocean lover, Leslie has created her book as an offering to all those enchanted by a good siren story, and also as a vehicle to help spread awareness of some of the devastation being inflicted upon the ocean world today, that the men and women of conservation societies like Sea Shepherd work tirelessly to halt and reverse. In honour of their brave and crucial efforts, 100% of the proceeds raised this evening from sales of Lovesick Little will go towards supporting Operation Ice Watch, a campaign at the front lines of saving the baby harp seal.
