African Events Canada is hosting a weekend-long exhibition across Canada with numerous suppliers who support and offer trophy hunting. We invite like-minded individuals to join us in our peaceful protest against this “sport”.

The Ontario protest is being held from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm on 16 January , and 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on 17 January .  Two hour shifts are suggested – and a schedule can be established at the meeting point.

Expect media coverage. If you’re able to, please bring signage and cameras, and be ready to heap scorn on the event attendees. Please stay off private property and remain on the public property. Please keep the focus of the protest on banning trophy hunting in Africa . To become better informed on the subject, please read the articles on the BATH Facebook page. Spread the word!

It’s not practical for everyone to show up and demonstrate for a full 8 hours on the Saturday and 6 hours on the Sunday, particularly in a January time-frame. And it is not effective for everyone to show up all at once, stay awhile, and leave all at once.

Therefore, BATH have proposed a schedule based on 2 hour increments, however demonstrators are more than welcome to stay as long as you want. They suggest as many people as possible be at the muster point at 10 am on the Saturday openings of the respective hunting conventions to show solidarity, to meet each other, and to discuss and establish their appearances as per the schedule as follows.

The schedule times would be:

Saturday: 10h00-12h00, 12h00-14h00, 14h00-16h00, and 16h00-18h00

Sunday: 10h00-12h00, 12h00-14h00, and 14h00-16h00

Please bring your own placards expressing your opposition to trophy hunting in Africa. Be creative! Do take lots of pictures and videos of the event, and do post online. Please conduct yourselves in a civilized manner as the media may show up periodically to cover the event. But do have fun with folks attending the event.

One idea for keeping warm may be to bring a patio heater for BATHers to warm up under. I will leave that up to you!
