Kitchener & London Shut Down Channer’s Fur Cruelty

We are pairing up with our friends at Animal Liberation Alliance London for a cooperative protest and meet-up spanning both Kitchener and London. The link? Channer’s clothiers. There are only two locations of this upscale clothing store. One in Waterloo at 95 King Street South and one in London at the corner of Wonderland Road and Commissioners Road. They notoriously sell Canada Goose products and shouldn’t be left out in the cold of our disapproval. Let’s give them some of our attention! The last time Channer’s was targeted in London was four years ago!
Canada Goose Jackets are made with coyote fur trim and Goose feathers. Killing animals for a decoration on clothing is cruel beyond words and we want you to join us in speaking up for the creatures Canada Goose Inc. and Channers vicitimize and profit from every year! 2/3rds of animals caught in the same leg hold traps that target coyotes are discarded as “trash animals” – they could be endangered species or your family dog!
The event will start at the Kitchener location at 10:00am till noon. For those who are able and willing to car pool, we encourage as many Kitchener folks as possible to go to the Channer’s in London for the second demonstration of the day!
In between protests, some of the KOALA participants will be coming to London to have a meet-up and social at approx. 1:30pm at Vegan Fast Food joint – Globally Local 262 Dundas Street, London (across from the central library entrance).

After that, there will be a protest held at the London Channer’s location between 3:30:00pm to 5:30pm. For the London protest, the best place to park is right across the street at the old Scotiabank location beside Sleep Country. The lot is empty with the bank now gone.
This is an excellent opportunity for our two groups to get together and collaborate and get familiar with each other. We certainly would like to do many more events like this across many fronts going forward. 2017 is about unity. We are stronger together.

The London location is a highly visible location and is also very windswept and open to the elements. For those coming to the London protest, be sure to come prepared for windy, cold conditions regardless of the weather forecast. Dress in layers and bring large signs.
