Memorial for Regan

Schedule for the day:

The memorial and performances will all take place at the entrance to the slaughterhouse – which has announced they will be closed for the day – at Harvester Road, opposite the Tim Hortons.

T-Shirt table opens
Book of Remembrance available for signing

12pm
There will be a peaceful protest about 10 minutes walk from the memorial for those who wish to join

1:30pm
Food is served: with thanks to Rara & pBrian and ANIMAL LIBERATION KITCHEN
Please bring your own water bottles. We’re aiming for this to be a plate-free event, with finger food available. Please do bring your own plate if you wish.

3pm – speakers and performances
Shimmi will perform a song while everyone lays flowers at the entrance of the slaughterhouse

There will be a roster of speakers including:
– Regan’s family
– Fellow Activists
– Audio message from Ingrid Newkirk of PETA
– Reading of message sent by Federal MP Nathaniel Erskine-Smith
– Animal Justice Lawyer Camille Labchuk
– Anita Krajnc co-founder Animal Save Movement
– Statement will be read out from Joaquin Phoenix

Performance by Erin Janus will close the ceremony.

For those that wish to stay later, there will be another peaceful demonstration involving a candlelight vigil.
