No Spare Ribs Scarborough Ribfest

August 5, 2017 @ 12:00 pm - August 7, 2017 @ 4:00 pm

Join the Save Outreach Squad at the Scarborough Ribfest to challenge the normalization of festivals that celebrate the murder of animals. Using provocative banners and signs, Virtual Reality goggles, and informative leaflets, we will invite the public to bear witness to the suffering involved in their ‘fun-filled’ festival and ask them to reject speciesism. Every volunteer will recieve a free Toronto Pig Save t-shirt to wear at the event! Please note that this is just one of at least 35 ribfests that will take place over the summerand the t-shirt offer is for all ribfests. If every activist is willing to commit to at least ONE shift at ONE ribfest, we can have a strong presence at most of these horror fests! Check the calendar of ribfests: https://www.google.ca/amp/www.todocanada.ca/ribfests-greater-toronto-area/amp/ to see which one(s) work best for you and keep an eye out for the official event invitation.

Schedule for outreach:
Saturday: 12-4 pm
Sunday: 12-4 pm
Monday: 12-4pm

Due to weather warnings, the Friday night outreach was cancelled.

Meet at the NE corner of Brimley and Lawrence.
Stay tuned for updates! And don’t forget to wear your Toronto Pig Save T-shirt! If you don’t have one, I’ll give you one when you arrive:)
