Fur farming and the use of cruel leg hold traps have been banned in many countries and jurisdictions around the world. A growing number of people recognize that killing animals for nothing more than a clothing decoration is unethical and immoral and that this practice does not reflect contemporary values of society. Let’s take action in defense of the countless animals victimized by the fur trade and put an end to their suffering once and for all!

North American Fur Auctions (commonly known as NAFA) is a Canadian company that auctions on consignment fur pelts harvested in Canada and the United States. Its services are used by both large fur farms and small-time trappers. Its auctions are held three to four times a year in Toronto. It is the largest fur auction house in North America, and the second largest in the world. Millions of animal pelts are sold here annually.

In addition to holding auctions, NAFA is also the headquarters for the Canadian Mink Breeders Association ( http://www.webtext.ca/canadamink.ca/ ) which is responsible for the marketing, and promotion of the fur farming sector.

NAFA is also the founding member of the North American Fur Industry Communications group (NAFIC) ( http://www.truthaboutfur.com/en/about-nafic ), established in 2013 as a cooperative public educational program for the fur industry in Canada and the USA. NAFIC disseminates dis-information via the Internet under the brand name “Truth About Fur”.

ATTENTION! In a coordinated effort to thwart NAFIC from disseminating lies about the fur trade we are asking everyone to hijack their hashtag#TRUTHABOUTFUR. Please use this hashtag on twitter, Facebook, and other social media platforms when posting about anti-fur actions, articles, blogs, protests, etc. This hashtag is seen by people interested in purchasing fur products, politicians, and fur industry advocates.

Please boycott and educate people about clothing brands that use real fur and profit directly from animal cruelty, such as Canada Goose, Rudsak, and Nobis.
