World Day for Animals in Labs – DxE Toronto

Join us to let the public know that cosmetic and other tests on animals is a horror show that needs to stop. Since 1979, animal rights activists have been observed World Day for Animals in Labs on April 24th. Direct Action Everywhere is proud to be joining this campaign.
Millions of animals are subjected to confinement, mutilation, stress, pain and death in the name of science and beauty every year. Just like us, these animals feel fear and pain and desire love and joy. They do not consent to this research.

This is a peaceful demonstration. We will be meeting at south-east corner of Bay & College street. Dress code – feel free to wear your DxE shirt! We may also be wearing medical gowns, and have an installation where one activist portrays an animal testing scene.
A bill to end costmetic testing had its 3rd reading at the Canadian Sentate, sponsored by Hon. Carolyn Stewart Olsen. The debate was adjourned. Bill (S-214) is an Act to amend the Food and Drugs Act (cruelty-free cosmetics). Let’s remind the politicians that this has to be given their full attention.
