SUMMARY:Friday Fights vs. Canada Goose #3
DESCRIPTION:Join the Canada Goose Pressure Campaign as we attempt our first corporate outreach action! We will take our message directly to the Canada Goose Headquarters. The goal is to catch Canada Goose employees coming out of the building after work and engage with them in constructive dialogue in peaceful\, compassionate\, and nonviolent ways\, as we ask them to end violence against animals. Ultimately we hope to sit down with their decision makers and have a sincere conversation about ending animal use. \nACTION PLAN:\nThis action will be similar to vegan outreach and Cube of Truth. Those who are comfortable doing outreach can try to engage in conversations with Canada Goose employees\, while those who are not comfortable can help us hold signs and banners. \nNote: Please check out the Facebook event page for updates.

SUMMARY:MINK TRIAL Pre Trial Hearing & Rally in Kingston
DESCRIPTION:In 2017\, Animal Rights Activist Malcolm Klimowicz peformed a citizen’s inspection of 5 Southern Ontario mink farms and recorded shocking animal cruelty in order to document a systemic culture of neglect inherent within Canada’s fur industry. \nA lawyer drafted a legal complaint which Mr. Klimowicz handed over to the OSPCA along with the footage. The complaint documented observations of dead\, injured\, and infected animals being denied medical treatment. Unsanitary living conditions – cages and rotten food covered in feces. Sludge pits of urine releasing toxic ammonia fumes\, and other forms of neglect. The footage was released online and dozens of media stories were generated – turning public opinion against the fur industry. Shamefully\, the OSPCA took no action despite overt video evidence. \nA few months later\, Police laid 3 charges of break & enter despite the fact no property damage or other crimes had been comitted. After lengthly legal proceedings\, two charges were defeated but Mr. Klimowicz is still unjustly facing a 2 YEAR PRISON SENTENCE for simply filming at the Walt Freeman mink farm in Battersea\, ON (near Kingston). These court cases have been coined the #MinkTrial. \nRecently\, a similar criminal case – #PigTrial2 where activist Jenny McQueen rescued an injured piglet from a pig farm near London\, ON was thrown out and all charges were dismissed. This has lead to animal agriculture groups signing statements and aggresively lobbying the government to enact tougher legislation against those who document cases of animal cruelty on private property. \nIndustrial fur farms and other animal agriculture sectors are self regulated. That means good and caring people like you rarely see the prolific animal suffering which is necessary to keep these industries profitable. \nAnimal Ag spends millions humanewashing their brutal and violent slaughter of countless intelligent and self aware living beings. They feed the public disinformation in carefully orcastrated campaigns. That is why it is so important when that unreality is shattered by brave individuals who show courage in the face of cruelty and courage in the face of censorship despite risks to thier own well being. You have a right to know the truth. Animals need us to tell thier stories so that people can act on thier compassion and refuse to participate in thier oppression. \nStand with Malcolm in court against the multi-million dollar animal ag industry who is trying to silence whistleblowers and intimidate people who expose their lies! \nWe are planning to use this courtcase as an opportunity to put the fur industry on trial in the court of public opinion and draw more attention to the plight of animals suffering in our own backyard. Please attend & share widely! \nLegal Defence Fund: Donate & Share!\nhttps://ca.gofundme.com/minktrial-legal-defence-fund \nWhat to expect:\nPeople will gather outside the court house from 9:30-9:55am. Court begins at 10:00 and those who wish to attend inside the courtroom are welcome to do so. Others are welcome to rally outside the courthouse with signs/banners/noise makers. \nCourt proceedings can be very lengthly and I cannot estimate the end time. It could be a few hours or all day. Feel free to drop by and support briefly if you cannot attend the whole day. \nGlobal News: Animal cruelty at Walt Freeman Mink Farm:\nhttps://globalnews.ca/news/3996525/battersea-farmer-accused-neglect-cruelty/ \nVisit: www.endfurfarming.com to view video footage of Ontario fur farms and view media stories about the campaign to ban Ontario fur farms and the #minktrial. \nNote: Please check the Facebook event page for updates.

We strongly encourage that attendees pack their own lunches because we may need to move efficiently across the city depending on location. \n2PM-3PM: Meet at location for protest against a Canada Goose related target according to our morning action planning session. \nDebrief for protest: Since protests/disruptions tend to be intense experiences\, we will find a place for people to unwind and encourage feedback\, suggestions\, and reflections on the action\, before moving on to outreach. \n3:30PM-5PM: Campaign outreach. We will be leafleting and talking to people on the street to encourage them to take actions against Canada Goose\, while connecting/recruiting them to the campaign. We will find a place to gather and encourage everyone to offer feedback\, suggestions\, and reflections on how the day went. People can also make dinner plans.

SUMMARY:Toronto - National Anti-Fur Day 2019
DESCRIPTION:We’ll be at the south entrance of the Eaton Centre\, outside Saks – please join us to educate about the horrors of the fur industry. \nWe’ll have posters\, leaflets\, but please bring your own too if you like 🙂 We hope to bring the sign that lights up with “Canada Goose Kills” too. \nOur stance is that big business is wanting to decimate the indigenous lands\, and destroy all wildlife. Meanwhile their shareholders get rich with dividends. \nWe support indigenous rights. We’re ashamed of how indigenous lands have been polluted and taken by huge industries\, which includes animal agriculture that grows mono-culture crops to feed to the millions of animals artificially inseminated and kept in those nasty white sheds in the countryside. \nFur is not ‘green’. A chemical soup is needed to cure the skin from rotting. Fur farms pollute the environment around them. Industry is out of control. \nCo-hosted by Jenny McQueen & Vikki Lenola

SUMMARY:Mississauga Fur Animal Save Outreach
DESCRIPTION:It’s 2019 and we are here to educate and create awareness of the countless victims that fall prey to the fur trade. If you would not wear an animal you care for at home\, why is it an exception for foxes\, coyotes\, minks\, rabbits\, etc.? No fashion can ever justify the suffering of another\, let’s help raise the bar for cruelty-free wear. We will be have leaflets on hand to educate the public about fur while promoting cruelty-free alternatives.

SUMMARY:Mink Trial - Kingston
DESCRIPTION:WWW.ENDFURFARMING.COM \nThis is a support rally for my first court appearance in Kingston to face break and enter charges for filming animal neglect at the Walt Freeman mink farm (near Kingston) and reporting it to the police. I have also been charged with B&E by 2 other mink farms. Each charge potentially carries a 2 year prison sentence. \nNo property was damaged and not even a door was opened to obtain the footage. This charge is a gross misuse of the law. It is an attempt by the fur industry and the government to silence whistleblowers and censor how animals are being mistreated from the public. I have used my camera to open up the doors of these fur factories to the eyes of the world and now they want them slammed shut. I’m asking that you take a stand with me against animal cruelty and against censorship. Lets use this opportunity to expose the animal cruelty happening at the Walt Freeman mink farm and across the fur industry! \nSigns will be provided. People are asked to stand outside the court during the rally this day. \nThe public has a right to know what is happening to these animals. It should not be a crime to film and report animal cruelty to the police. \nFootage recorded at the Walt Freeman mink farm:\nhttps://youtu.be/GzHIqIOFlgI \nPlease donate to and share my legal defense fund:\nhttps://www.gofundme.com/minktrial-legal-defence-fund \nMy legal defense team is being spearheaded by Gary Grill:\nhttp://www.grillbarristers.com \nBack Story:\nIn 2017\, I spearheaded a campaign to ban fur farming in Ontario. We sent petitions to the Ontario Legislature\, the Minister of Agriculture and other key politicians. Members of our group met with and lobbied MPP’s\, and I helped organize dozens of protests at fur farms\, fur auctions\, and demonstrated against political leaders who support the fur trade. \nAs part of the campaign\, I coordinated and executed a public inquiry into the fur industry. I used a video camera to record shocking animal cruelty at 5 mink factory farms across the province. I recorded dead and injured animals\, toxic sludge pits emitting poison gas\, cages covered in feces\, and animals being fed maggot infested rotten food. The fact that these crimes were happening at 5 different farms exposed a culture of standardized animal neglect across the fur industry. \nThe videos were made public generating international media coverage and shone a big spotlight on this secretive industry. I then handed the footage over to the OSPCA in hopes they would take action to help these animals but unfortunately they have refused to act. \nThe OSPCA investigation is being lead by officer Carol Vanderheide under case #0800120180119-19. Please contact her for more information: Phone: 1-888-668-7722 ext. 414 / Email: Cvanderheide@ospca.on.ca \nRelated news coverage: \nhttps://globalnews.ca/news/3996525/battersea-farmer-accused-neglect-cruelty/ \nhttps://www.thewhig.com/2018/01/29/animal-rights-group-slams-mink-farm/wcm/5e4d86d7-edd3-0e44-6eb2-b6439312aa16 \nhttps://www.sootoday.com/around-ontario/ontario-protesters-swarm-trial-of-animal-rights-activist-accused-of-mink-farm-break-in-8-photos-1078265 \nhttps://globalnews.ca/news/4315159/animal-rights-activist-charged-with-break-and-enter-makes-first-court-appearance/ \nhttps://torontosun.com/news/local-news/activist-faces-charges-after-posting-alleged-mink-farm-abuses \nhttps://lfpress.com/news/local-news/animal-activist-charged-in-mink-stink \nWatch PETA’s expose on my investigation:\nhttps://investigations.peta.org/fur-farm-horrors/

SUMMARY:The Apiecalypse Now 2018 Fur Trade!
DESCRIPTION:Ever hear of the fur trade? Okay\, how about one where you get free pizza? THAT’S RIGHT it is the FIRST Apiecalypse Now Fur Trade! \nHere’s the deal. You have a coat with fur trim on the hood\, that fur is probably made of a coyote (an animal that lives here in Toronto with all of us everyday) or Raccoon. We don’t love that. You don’t need that fur to be warm\, but guess what\, you can donate it and baby animals that are being rehabbed and rescued in our own backyards can use it to feel safe an warm after they’ve lost their mothers. \nTHE DEAL: If you bring us your zipped off REAL** fur trim from your coat and donate it to orphaned baby animals and we’ll TRADE you for a FREE slice of pizza. \nThat’s it! You’ve got the fur\, and only animals need fur in Toronto in 2018\, so we’ll trade ya. One trim for one slice\, from open till 7pm on November 25th. This is as close to a win/win as we can get! \nYou get Pizza\, baby squirrels\, raccoons\, foxes\, possums\, chipmunks\, skunks\, kittens and other urban animals get cozy beds. We thank you\, coyotes who don’t get trapped for fur thank you\, and baby animals thank you. What a bomb ass way to show you like animals a whole lot. \n(**Faux fur is already totally chill so we are only trading for the real stuff. The babies can tell. Not sure if your trim is real? We can help you find out! One surefire way is to take a strand of it out\, and hold it to a lighter. The fake stuff melts/balls up\, the real stuff… well\, smells like burning hair. Some fur is labled faux but is real\, so give it a check! — Also the brand can be a giveaway\, if your coat is Canada Goose\, is trimmed with real\, Canadian coyote fur. And we’ll gladly take that off your hands and take it to the orphans for ya.) \nONE DAY ONLY. November 25\, Noon to 7pm\, BLOOR ST location!  \nIf you miss the trade but want to give us your fur for the babies without needing something in return we will always be happy to get it to them for you anytime. You can just give us your trim and we’ll take care of it for you. ♥

SUMMARY:Winners Anti-Fur Chalk Disruption
DESCRIPTION:YOU CAN DO THIS ANYWHERE\, ANYTIME!! \nTJX Winners\, Marshalls\, and Homesense assume that we will soon tire of speaking up against their complete exploitation of animals for profit. But they don’t know who they’re dealing with! Because this is not about us – its about so many animals who are counting on us. We will not let them suffer quietly. \nChalktivism is one of the simplest yet most powerful ways to get the attention of the public and TJX head executives who don’t want their customers upset\, especially as the busy Christmas Shopping season begins. Simply grab some chalk and write your message on public sidewalks and concrete poles near the entrances of your local Winners\, Marshalls\, or Homesense store! Take a photo of your work and send it to us! When I did this at Yonge and Dundas in Toronto\, many people took photos meaning they also took the phone number with them. Hopefully some will call\, but most of all\, store managers will have something else to report to head office. \nOh\, and don’t forget to keep calling 1-800-646-9466 and if you haven’t signed the petition\, please do and SHARE IT!\nhttps://www.change.org/p/ernie-herrman-urge-tjx-winners-marshalls-homesense-to-stop-selling-fur

SUMMARY:MinkTrial Courthouse Rally
DESCRIPTION:I am facing 2 years in prison for filming animal cruelty and giving the footage to the OSPCA. \n8am – Rally in front of the Oshawa Court House. Signs will be available. I am to appear in court for 9am and am not sure how long it will take thereafter. My lawyers have asked for a large presence at court that day to draw media attention to this important issue. Demonstrators are asked to rally outside and not attend inside the courtroom that day. This is my pre-trial court appearance. Even though I am being charged\, we plan to use this trial as an opportunity to put the fur industry on trial (much like the #pigtrial did with the meat industry). This could be a catalyst for a fur farm ban! A team of experts is being assembled to coordinate a plan of action and this will become expensive. If you are able to\, please donate to my legal defense fund below (thank you!). \nPlease donate to and share my legal defense fund:\nhttps://www.gofundme.com/minktrial-legal-defence-fund \nMy legal defense team is being spearheaded by Gary Grill:\nhttp://www.grillbarristers.com \nBack Story: \nIn 2017\, I spearheaded a campaign to ban fur farming in Ontario. \nThis past May I was arrested and charged with Break and Enter stemming from the footage recorded at the Christel Schwirtz Mink Farm near Oshawa\, ON. No property was damaged and not even a door was opened to obtain the footage. This charge is a gross misuse of the law and an attempt by the industry and the government to silence and censor this information from the public. I have used my camera to open up the doors of these fur factories to the eyes of the world and now they want them slammed shut. I’m asking that you take a stand with me against animal cruelty and against censorship. \nThe public has a right to know what is happening to these animals. It is not a crime to film and report animal cruelty to the police. \nRelated news coverage: \nhttps://globalnews.ca/news/4315159/animal-rights-activist-charged-with-break-and-enter-makes-first-court-appearance/ \nhttps://torontosun.com/news/local-news/activist-faces-charges-after-posting-alleged-mink-farm-abuses \nhttps://lfpress.com/news/local-news/animal-activist-charged-in-mink-stink \nAnimals Being Fed Their Own Feces at Christel Schwirtz Mink Farm (video):\nhttps://youtu.be/9KFheUw0HVw \nWatch PETA’s expose on my investigation:\nhttps://investigations.peta.org/fur-farm-horrors/ \nMore info at www.endfurfarming.com \nNote: Please check the Facebook event page for updates.
