SUMMARY:Toronto: Protest Canada Goose Cruelty at their Shareholder Meeting!
DESCRIPTION:Please join local PETA supporters in protesting the use of animals in fashion outside Canada Goose’s headquarters during the company’s virtual shareholder meeting. The Canada Goose symbol is ubiquitous in cold climates\, but it represents anything but warmth. Every single piece of fur trim or plucked down used by Canada Goose comes from an animal who didn’t want to be killed. The fur trim that lines the hoods of the company’s winter jackets comes from wild coyotes who were trapped\, killed\, and skinned. And no matter where down is sourced\, birds used by the down industry are inevitably sent to the slaughterhouse where standard practice is to hang them upside down\, stun them\, and then slit their throats\, often while they are still conscious. \nPlease join PETA for a very important and spirited demonstration to speak out against Canada Goose’s use of geese and coyotes for their outerwear. \nWHEN: Thursday\, August 15 at 9:45 am to 11 am\nWHERE: Outside the Canada Goose headquarters at 250 Bowie Ave Toronto\, ON M6E 2R9 (please see this map: https://goo.gl/maps/Da4zrXWejwLt1grN9)\nCONTACT: Tricia Lebkuecher: TriciaL@peta.org \nPosters\, props\, and leaflets will be provided. Note that reserved parking will not be available\, and please be prepared for the weather. Outreach events are a fun and effective way to help animals as well as meet local advocates\, so before you go\, check out PETA’s outreach tips [http://www.mediapeta.com/peta/PDF/tips_for_PETA_activists.pdf] and be sure to invite others. All materials will be provided\, so please just bring along as many friends and family members as you can. \nNote: Please check the Facebook event page for updates.

SUMMARY:An Evening with John Oberg and Thomas Goodman & Calling All Vegans Fundraiser
DESCRIPTION:Please join us in giving a warm GTA welcome to two very hardworking activists: Social media guru John Oberg and Plant Dining Partnerships President Thomas Goodman\, on the Toronto leg of their speaking tour. \nAt the same time\, please support vegan programming! This will also serve as an ad hoc fundraiser to help Calling All Vegans continue their vegan-friendly broadcasting at ThatChannel\, until other arrangements can be made. As you may know\, ThatChannel has been struggling financially\, leaving the immediate future of Calling All Vegans uncertain. They need the support of everyone in our community. \nIf you can’t attend\, please consider donating through the “Shop Now” button (leading to PayPal) found on the Plant-Based (R)evolution Facebook page or send an e-transfer to callingallvegans@gmail.com. No contribution is too small! \nFor those who haven’t yet had the chance to attend a Calling All Vegans live taping\, Sue and Alec are looking forward to sitting down for a conversation at the event with our two speakers. The interview will be live-streamed and recorded. After which\, John and Thomas will each give a presentation highlighting the initiatives in which they’re involved and outlining strategies on how activists can better advance the vegan message. \nThere will also be a pop-up food market showcasing some of our local fabulous culinary “talent” as well as the Compassion on the Streets crew serving up some delicious snacks\, available by donation\, with all proceeds going to Calling All Vegans. More details to follow. \nMEET OUR SPEAKERS! \nJOHN OBERG is a social media pro\, dedicated to making the world a kinder place for animals by strategically utilizing the power of social media. Previously\, he served as Director of New Media for the international animal protection organization\, The Humane League. Prior to that\, John served as Director of Communications for Vegan Outreach\, and he is currently a writer at Plant Based News. In his roles at THL and VO\, John oversaw social media for the organizations which led to a tenfold increase in following in both\, as well as over 1 billion impressions of content posted to these pages. In 2019 alone\, he’s had one 100 million impressions of his own posts on Twitter\, Facebook\, and Instagram. \nTHOMAS GOODMAN has been a lifelong admirer of animals\, was raised meat-free\, and later became a professional advocate for animals in 2014. He has since worked in various initiatives for animals such as corporate outreach\, federal state and regulatory advocacy\, promotion of Meatless Mondays\, leafleting across North America\, public speaking\, welfare campaigns\, community organizing\, and more for the animal protection movement. In 2019\, Thomas launched Plant Dining Partnerships\, a US non-profit devoted to providing resources to increase accessibility of plant-based food options throughout foodservice industries in all communities\, emphasizing food deserts\, highlighting competitive price\, taste\, and convenience opportunities. \nNote: Please check the Facebook event page for updates.

SUMMARY:Antler - Speciesism awareness/outreach
DESCRIPTION:The right to join with fellow citizens in protest or peaceful assembly is critical to a functioning democracy. Unfortunately\, law officials sometimes violate this right through means intended to thwart free public expression. \nWe stand on public property weekly in front of Antler. We don’t abuse or threaten the owner\, the staff\, the public\, from time to time we have been screamed at\, pushed\, shoved. We have dialogue\, we educate\, we stand up for an oppressed group that the law does not yet protect so we exercise our legal rights to raise awareness. Please join us. \nNote: Please check the Facebook event page for updates.

SUMMARY:Speciesism awareness\, a duck is a dog is a deer
DESCRIPTION:Please join us at Antler located at 1454 Dundas St W to educate the public about speciesism\, to debunk the myth that killing the animals at Antler is ethical and humane\, to protest Antler who makes these ethical claims. Antler won’t put our speciesism sign in their window therefore we won’t go away. Last week we spoke to a hunter who was angry at chef Michael Hunter for misleading the public by calling the farmed animals on his menu wild\, the hunter also admitted to feeling badly every time he (admittedly) unnecessarily kills an animal. Come join us to educate and protest! \nWe have the signs\, we have the literature\, we just need you. \nNote: Please check the Facebook event page for updates.

SUMMARY:SHOWDOWN IN OLDTOWN
DESCRIPTION:**SHOWDOWN IN OLD TOWN** \nPlease join us in protesting the horse carriages in NOTL. \nWe have released countless videos of poor behaviour by the carriage operators in Niagara on the lake. What we caught this past weekend was by far the worst… \nMaking a false police report with the intent to lay false charges against an innocent activist. MULTIPLE serious highway traffic act infractions and borderline criminal harassment by the owner of the carriages against an innocent woman. \nDespite all this solid evidence\, there are a large group of townspeople supporting this company and its owner despite her actions. Enough is enough. Her supporters plan to counter protest against us\, they object to our peaceful protest and exercising of our constitutional rights…the showdown has begun… \nThe forces of Anti-Speciesism and supporters of exploitation and oppression are set to square off in the heart of old town…a showdown reminiscent of an old western movie…will you be there? What side are you on? \nJOIN US\, STAND AGAINST SPECIESISM. \nNote: Please check the Facebook event page for updates.

SUMMARY:Speciesism awareness\, a duck is a dog is a deer

There will be a Friday evening workshop\, Saturday morning/afternoon veggie parade and Saturday evening Cube. \nOn Thursday we will stand in front of Antler at 1545 Dundas St W to raise awareness about speciesism; humane meat is a myth. \nNote: Please check the Facebook event page for updates.

SUMMARY:Antler speciesism awareness\, a duck is a dog is a deer
DESCRIPTION:Antler Restaurant (I suddenly can’t tag them in the event ?) is located at 1454 Dundas Street West. \nThere’s lots going on for the animals this weekend; Mississauga’s first Cube of Truth on Saturday\, the second Cube will be starting at 8 at Yonge and Dundas\, marching in the gay pride parade begins the following day (Sunday the 24th) at 3 p.m. Please attend what you can. \nSaturday is my birthday- I considered taking the weekend off just for me but I quickly realized that wouldn’t make sense because the best way to celebrate me isn’t some dinner out\, I don’t really care about that. Fighting for the rights of animals is how I want to celebrate\, please join me. ? ? ? ? ? ? \nTogether let’s raise awareness and erase speciesism. \nNote: Please check the Facebook event page for updates.

SUMMARY:Speciesism awareness\, a duck is a dog is a deer
DESCRIPTION:he only ethical dishes on Antlers menu are the wild vegetables they forage for. The rest\, called “ethical fare” are animals bred to be killed. Ethical? People ask why we’re “harassing a small businessman” but that question is discrimination against the animals who don’t care where they’re served and that’s speciesism. Michael has chosen not to put our sign in his window\, he think it’s silly. But if it’s just some “silly sign” what’s the big deal? Put it up and we’ll move on. \nThis Saturday thanks to activist Ashley Ollie from Montreal we have the “GO VEGAN” sign as seen in picture for all to see. \nNote: Please check the Facebook event page for updates.

SUMMARY:Antler speciesism awareness\, a duck is a dog is a deer
DESCRIPTION:Our sign is simple\, our sign is honest\, our sign is matter of fact. Our sign says: \nATTENTION: ANIMALS’ LIVES ARE THEIR RIGHT. IN THIER DESIRE TO LIVE AND CAPACITY TO SUFFER\, A DOG IS A PIG IS A CHICKEN IS A HUMAN. REJECT SPECIESISM. \nAntler has a choice\, put up this sign or we’ll continue. Hunter made fun of it on Rogan\, why? I’d like him to tell us what about the sign is silly or untrue. \nHomemade signs welcome\, be patient with the public\, no blocking the entrance\, the sidewalk or touching public property. \nNote: Please check the Facebook event page for updates.

SUMMARY:Antler speciesism awareness\, a duck is a dog is a human
DESCRIPTION:We will not accept the question why are you at Antler when the question should be why wouldn’t we be at Antler. By telling us we should be elsewhere people are saying that the lives of the dead animals inside of Antler don’t matter\, but we know that all lives of all beings matter so we’ll keep standing up for them. \nHomemade signs welcome\, ideally speciesism awareness related. We don’t block entrance\, touch private property (window) or get violent. If someone pushes you please don’t push them back. \nNote: Please check the Facebook event page for updates.

SUMMARY:Antler speciesism awareness\, a duck is a dog
DESCRIPTION:Ethical and humane dead animal flesh don’t exist\, the “Antler anger” means that we must keep going; why are people so angry? These animals are forced onto slaughter trucks\, unloaded at a slaughterhouse\, on their last day of life. They are bred to be killed\, wild animals who have never run free in the wild. \nWe aren’t aggressive\, don’t touch private property\, don’t block entrance\, police are always there.
