DESCRIPTION:On October 13th and 14th\, 2018 the Central Rodeo League will be holding the RAM Rodeo Tour Championship Finals at the Royal Canadian Riding Academy in Newmarket\, Ontario. \nJoin us for a protest to spread awareness and knowledge on the abuse and cruelty that is involved in these types of events\, as well as to be the voices for these innocent animals. They need us!!! \nThere will be pamphlets and stickers we will be giving to whomever would like to help hand out\, however Signs are always encouraged to bring\, preferably with pictures and few words! DESCRIPTION:Super Circus Spectacular is coming back to Canada and heading to St. Catharines.\nThey have dogs and horses that they use in their shows. \nWhy we are here…\nWhile it is true that many domestic animals are incredibly social in comparison to their wild counterparts\, they do not choose to participate in the performances\, it is expected of them. \nAnimals suffer invariably as they are forced to perform under extreme conditions. Like exotic animals\, domestic animals are trained via methods of negative reinforcement and operant conditioning. These methods involve depriving animals of food and water until they perform and using various methods of pain and fear to gain authority over the animals. \nHorses are often trained to stand on their hind legs and walk backward\, a trick that is highly dangerous and entirely unnatural. The only reason a horse would perform such a trick is by way of fear or pain.\nSource. DESCRIPTION:This Sunday June 4th\, is the 6th Annual Niagara VegFest at Market Square (St. Catharines) from 11a.m. til 6 p.m.  So\, after you filled up with good vegan food\, shopped til you drop\, listened to some great speakers and supported many worthwhile animal orgs and charities …why not make your voice heard for animals\, by popping round to the arena at 8 Gale Crescent to speak out for the animals in  “Super Circus Spectacular”. This circus features the use of horses\, a miniatrue pony and dogs. (Later in the week there are also ‘shows’ at Welland & Niagara Falls.)

DESCRIPTION:We all know that the circus is horrible: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sQbeL-Hw00c \nSo come join us and make sure the circus knows they aren’t welcome here. \nDemo times are as follows: \nThursday\, August 18th – 11:30-1:00 and 6:00-7:30\nFriday\, August 19th – 2:30-4:00 and 6:00-7:30\nSaturday\, August 20th – 10:30-12:00\, 2:30-4:00 and 6:00-7:30\nSunday\, August 21st – 11:30-1:00 \nThere are a ton of circus shows taking place\, please join us for as many demos as you can. Organizers will be on hand at all demo times. Literature will be provided. There will be some signs provided as well but feel free to bring your own. \nWe have had a history of success with the Shriner’s now not doing shows in St. Catharines and Niagara Falls due to our presence. So let’s make this happen again in Welland.

DESCRIPTION:3pm & 630pm July 5th\n***We have been advised (May 3/16) that the elephants will not be travelling with the circus in Canada this summer (due to legal/permit issues). Further to this….the circus is still using horses in their show. It seems we are all in agreement that their exploitation is no different than the elephants (& big cats). We will still be protesting on July 5th outside the circus venue.\nGet your signs ready! Keep them horse specific….or generally about not supporting cruelty. \nThere will be a petition you can sign & info at the ” The Kind Kitchen” table (Orillia Farmers Market ). Email Mayor Clarke(mayor@orillia.ca)\, MPP for Simcoe North Mr Patrick Brown (patrick.brown@pc.ola.org) & Orillia Shriners (jb.watkins@sympatico.ca) to tell them your disapproval on this form of fundraising in our city. The event is on a Tuesday. The shows are 4pm & 730pm so we will be protesting at ****3pm & 630pm**** This is a peaceful\, information sharing event so make your signs kid friendly. Children welcome & are encouraged to attend.\nI would also like to promote a direct donation to the Orillia Shrine Club….they do wonderful work in the community & deserve our support (just not with circus cruelty).
