SUMMARY:Mink Trial
DESCRIPTION:Animal Rights activist Malcolm Klimowicz is facing a B&E charge and a 10 year prison sentence after filming and exposing animal cruelty at 5 Ontario mink farms during a public inquiry. This is expected to be the last trial date where the defense and the prosecutor will submit their closing arguments.\nThe trial will be broadcast online at this link: (more info will be shared when it becomes available).\nhttps://www.ontariocourts.ca/scj/\nHere is a good article which covers a lot of what happened at the last court dates where both Malcolm and the fur farmer testified:\nTrial starts for Windsor native accused of breaking into mink farm to video living conditions \n“No property was damaged and not even a door was opened to obtain the footage. This charge is a gross misuse of the law. It is an attempt by the fur industry and the government to silence whistleblowers and censor how animals are being mistreated from the public. I have used my camera to open up the doors of these fur factories to the eyes of the world and now they want them slammed shut. I’m asking that you take a stand with me against animal cruelty and against censorship. Lets use this opportunity to expose the animals suffering at the Walt Freeman mink farm and across the fur industry!” \nThe public has a right to know what is happening to these animals. It should not be a crime to film and report animal cruelty to the police. \nFootage recorded at the Walt Freeman mink farm:\nhttps://youtu.be/GzHIqIOFlgI \nPlease donate to and share my legal defense fund:\nhttps://www.gofundme.com/minktrial-legal-defence-fund\nMy legal defense team is being spearheaded by Gary Grill:\nhttp://www.grillbarristers.com \nBack Story:\nIn 2017\, I spearheaded a campaign to ban fur farming in Ontario. We sent petitions to the Ontario Legislature\, the Minister of Agriculture and other key politicians. Members of our group met with and lobbied MPP’s\, and I helped organize dozens of protests at fur farms\, fur auctions\, and demonstrated against political leaders who support the fur trade.\nAs part of the campaign\, I coordinated and executed a public inquiry into the fur industry. I used a video camera to record shocking animal cruelty at 5 mink factory farms across the province. I recorded dead and injured animals\, toxic sludge pits emitting poison gas\, cages covered in feces\, and animals being fed maggot infested rotten food. The fact that these crimes were happening at 5 different farms exposed a culture of standardized animal neglect across the fur industry.\nThe videos were made public generating international media coverage and shone a big spotlight on this secretive industry. I then handed the footage over to the OSPCA in hopes they would take action to help these animals but unfortunately they have refused to act.\nThe public probe into the fur industry caught farmers red handed engaging in criminal activity surrounding negligence and mistreatment of the animals in their care. Instead of taking action to help the animals\, the police\, government\, prosecutors\, and the fur industry went on a crusade to set an example of me.\nTheir aim was to deter others from defending animals as I have done. They went outside the scope of the law and criminally charged me with B&E\, civilly sued me for tens of thousands of dollars\, and went so far as to pass animal ag bill 156 – a law designed to stop any footage of animal use industries being recorded or shared to the pubic.\nWhat I have done to help save these animals may be questionable but what the fur industry is doing to them is\ninexcusable! I stand by my actions and I’ve seen our message resound around the world in a more unified voice than ever before to put an end to the madness of fur farming. \nMore info:\nWWW.ENDFURFARMING.COM \nWatch PETA’s expose on my investigation:\nhttps://investigations.peta.org/fur-farm-horrors/

SUMMARY:Mink Trial
DESCRIPTION:Important Update: \nDue to Covid19 the entire hearing will be held online via zoom. No one will be at the courthouse but people are encouraged to contact the trial coordinator and request to watch online. \nPeople can do this by sending and email requesting to view the trial with my name: Malcolm Klimowicz\, the trial dates: Nov 30 to Dec 4\, their own name & contact information to: \nKingston.SCJ.courts@ontario.ca \nTake action! \nComment on the Global News article:\nhttps://globalnews.ca/news/3996525/battersea-farmer-accused-neglect-cruelty/\nPlease donate to Malcolm’s legal defence fund here: https://ca.gofundme.com/minktrial-legal-defence-fund \nAnimal rights activist Malcolm Klimowicz is facing a 10 year prison sentence after being charged with break & enter at the Walt Freeman mink farm. He entered that farm and 4 other fur farms across Ontario and video taped shocking animal cruelty throughout the industry. The footage generated dozens of media stories that sparked a public debate about the future of fur farming in Canada. Two other fur farmers laid charges but were defeated by animal rights lawyers. Malcolm has pleaded not guilty and will be fighting the charge at trial. In addition to being criminally charged\, Malcolm is the target of a civil lawsuit launched against him by one of the defeated fur farm owners. \nSee here: https://farmersforum.com/mink-farm-sues-videotaping-activist/ \nStand with Malcolm in court against the fur industry and against Ag Gag Bill 156. The new law now makes it illegal for anyone even if you are an employee to document or film in any location where farm animals are kept or transported. The law criminalizes undercover investigations by groups like Mercy for Animals & Last Chance for animals. It criminalizes people from even approaching animals in slaughter transport trucks. And it also criminalizes anyone from filming inside factory farms\, slaughterhouses\, or anywhere there are “farm animals.” \nThis draconian law removes all accountability from the animal ag industry and will definitely hide animal cruelty and abuse from the public. This bill must be repealed. \nPeople are invited to attend inside the courtroom to observe the trial or to stand outside the courthouse with signs. \nDefend animals!\nDefend Malcolm!\nSmash 156!\nwww.endfurfarming.com

SUMMARY:Courthouse Rally And March /JUSTICE POUR LES ANIMAUX PORGREG
DESCRIPTION:Please come out and show support for the pig farm arrestees! \nJoin us as we silently walk through the streets of Ste-Hyacinthe. From the courthouse\, will be making brief stops at the Institut de Technologie Agroalimentaire (artificial insemination techniques)\, the Olymel offices and the renowned veterinary school. \nPlease dress for the weather (many layers). Signs will be provided\, or you can bring your own. We are asking for Justice for the animals at Porgreg and all animals exploited at farms which of course will include the demand for the right to rescue. It’s a short walk\, about 2.1 kms \n– Le texte en français suit – \n◼️ Come help create the strongest possible media event for the trial of 11 unjustly charged activists who staged the historic Dec. 7/19 occupation of a heinous pig farm south of Montreal. \n▪️ The activists’ occupation of the Porgreg pig breeding facility in Saint-Hyacinthe has generated massive media exposure of the tortures inflicted on animals inside this hellhole and animal agriculture generally\, and of the campaign for an Animal Bill of Rights (https://www.roseslaw.org/). \n▪️ For example CTV News aired a scathing report that shared the heroes’ livestreams (www.facebook.com/directactioneverywhere/videos/444508873106400/?fref=mentions) exposing that pigs are crammed into nightmarish gestation crates\, live and eat off their own feces\, and are crushed to death by the intense concentration of animals: https://montreal.ctvnews.ca/animal-activists-occupy-a-pig-farm-in-saint-hyacinthe-and-are-arrested-1.4719827 \n🚨 Repressive Quebec provincial police arrested the 11 heroes and charged them unjustly with the criminal offence of break and enter\, which carries a potential prison term of 10 years. \n✊ RALLY OUTSIDE THE COURTHOUSE with media expected to be present\, and help generate positive public momentum for this historic trial. \n👉WHERE:\nPalais de Justice de St- Hyacinthe\n1550 rue Dessaulles\nSt Hyacinthe\, QC\nJ2S 2S8 \n👉WHEN:\nMonday January 27th – 8AM \n📝 Several signs will be provided. SUMMARY:MINK TRIAL Pre Trial Hearing & Rally in Kingston
DESCRIPTION:In 2017\, Animal Rights Activist Malcolm Klimowicz peformed a citizen’s inspection of 5 Southern Ontario mink farms and recorded shocking animal cruelty in order to document a systemic culture of neglect inherent within Canada’s fur industry. \nA lawyer drafted a legal complaint which Mr. Klimowicz handed over to the OSPCA along with the footage. The complaint documented observations of dead\, injured\, and infected animals being denied medical treatment. Unsanitary living conditions – cages and rotten food covered in feces. Sludge pits of urine releasing toxic ammonia fumes\, and other forms of neglect. The footage was released online and dozens of media stories were generated – turning public opinion against the fur industry. Shamefully\, the OSPCA took no action despite overt video evidence. \nA few months later\, Police laid 3 charges of break & enter despite the fact no property damage or other crimes had been comitted. After lengthly legal proceedings\, two charges were defeated but Mr. Klimowicz is still unjustly facing a 2 YEAR PRISON SENTENCE for simply filming at the Walt Freeman mink farm in Battersea\, ON (near Kingston). These court cases have been coined the #MinkTrial. \nRecently\, a similar criminal case – #PigTrial2 where activist Jenny McQueen rescued an injured piglet from a pig farm near London\, ON was thrown out and all charges were dismissed. This has lead to animal agriculture groups signing statements and aggresively lobbying the government to enact tougher legislation against those who document cases of animal cruelty on private property. \nIndustrial fur farms and other animal agriculture sectors are self regulated. That means good and caring people like you rarely see the prolific animal suffering which is necessary to keep these industries profitable. \nAnimal Ag spends millions humanewashing their brutal and violent slaughter of countless intelligent and self aware living beings. They feed the public disinformation in carefully orcastrated campaigns. That is why it is so important when that unreality is shattered by brave individuals who show courage in the face of cruelty and courage in the face of censorship despite risks to thier own well being. You have a right to know the truth. Animals need us to tell thier stories so that people can act on thier compassion and refuse to participate in thier oppression. \nStand with Malcolm in court against the multi-million dollar animal ag industry who is trying to silence whistleblowers and intimidate people who expose their lies! \nWe are planning to use this courtcase as an opportunity to put the fur industry on trial in the court of public opinion and draw more attention to the plight of animals suffering in our own backyard. Please attend & share widely! \nLegal Defence Fund: Donate & Share!\nhttps://ca.gofundme.com/minktrial-legal-defence-fund \nWhat to expect:\nPeople will gather outside the court house from 9:30-9:55am. Court begins at 10:00 and those who wish to attend inside the courtroom are welcome to do so. Others are welcome to rally outside the courthouse with signs/banners/noise makers. \nCourt proceedings can be very lengthly and I cannot estimate the end time. It could be a few hours or all day. Feel free to drop by and support briefly if you cannot attend the whole day. \nGlobal News: Animal cruelty at Walt Freeman Mink Farm:\nhttps://globalnews.ca/news/3996525/battersea-farmer-accused-neglect-cruelty/ \nVisit: www.endfurfarming.com to view video footage of Ontario fur farms and view media stories about the campaign to ban Ontario fur farms and the #minktrial. \nNote: Please check the Facebook event page for updates.
