Then we will head to Queens Park\n1-2 PM – PBT/Climate rally in solidarity with Fridays For Future Toronto\n@Queens park \nToronto Climate Save \, Youth Climate Save Toronto & The Plant based treaty will be hosting a Climate rally in support of the Plant Based Treaty at Toronto city hall from 9-11 with an outreach team\, speakers and more and then we will all head out to rally together with Fridays for future Toronto at Queens park start time 12:30 noon \nOUR DEMANDS:\n– Cop26 leaders must talk about animal agriculture /methane and its contribution to the climate crisis in the climate conversation ( it’s not just CO2\, its METHANE TOO!)\n-cop26 must endorse the plant based treaty in order to truly reach net 0 emissions\n-Animal exploitation is also the product of animal agriculture. All species matter\, not “just” the ones being extinct/eradicated by destruction or pollution of their habitat \nOutreach \, costume wearers volunteers needed! please DM / email torontoclimate1@gmail.com

DESCRIPTION:Please join us on Tuesday\, August 31st at the Burlington City Hall for the launch of the Plant Based Treaty inviting mayor Marianne Meed Ward and city councillors to endorse it. \nThe IPCC report that just came out is full of dire warnings about our future. What future we have for ourselves\, our kids\, our grandkids\, and generations to come. Part of the solution is moving away from animal agriculture\, and for that reason\, the Animal Save and Climate Save Movement and many other climate and animal advocacy organizations are pushing out a new initiative called the Plant Based Treaty. \nAs a companion to UNFCC/ Paris Agreement we are urging governments to negotiate which will include the following three principles: \n🌱 RELINQUISH: No land usage\, ecosystem degradation or deforestation for the purpose of animal agriculture. \n🌱 REDIRECT: An active transition from animal-based agricultural systems to plant-based food systems. \n🌱 RESTORE: Restore key ecosystems and reforest the earth. \nThe website goes live on August 31 but you can find the landing page here:\nhttps://plantbasedtreaty.org/ \nAnyone wanting to volunteer please\, comment in the discussion tab or email Angie at torontopigsave@gmail.com
