DESCRIPTION:Slaughterhouse Vigil for Pigs \nPlease join us as we bear witness to the pigs at Conestoga ‘Meat’ Packers slaughterhouse. \nThe lives of more than 30\,000 beings are taken at this slaughterhouse just outside of Kitchener every week. Soon they will be killing up to FIFTY THOUSAND pigs per week. These pigs need our voices\, our documentation\, and our determination for change. Please share this event\, ‘invite’ Facebook users and bring family and friends with you to bear witness. \n***We will be gathering at a location close to the slaughterhouse for vegan outreach from 4:30PM to 5:45PM. Please see the separate event page if you would like to join us.*** \nIf this is your first time attending a slaughterhouse vigil please scroll to the bottom of the event description for information specifically for you. \nLOCATION/PARKING: \nDrive to 313 Menno Street\, Breslau\, Ontario\, N0B 1M0. Park on LONSDALE Road. To avoid getting a ticket\, park on the street about 100m past the slaughterhouse\, beyond the sign that says no parking. Please note that there is no public transport close to the slaughterhouse. If you would like to carpool you can post on this event page. If this is your first time driving to this slaughterhouse feel free to let us know you are coming so that we can give you contact information in case you get lost. \nPLEASE NOTE:\nWe are a love-based group who believe that we can achieve more through compassion than through force. Violence\, drugs\, or negativity are not welcome at vigils. This includes anger vocalized to truck drivers. SUMMARY:All day vigil and activism with special guest James Aspey
DESCRIPTION:Please join us for a vigil with special guest James Aspey.  Australian peace advocate James Aspey\, internationally known for taking a year-long vow of silence to raise awareness for animal rights issues\, will lead an all-day vigil at  Fearmans Pork slaughterhouse in Burlington till 2pm\, and then lead a march that starts at Trinity Square in Toronto at 3pm. Aspey was recently interviewed on the BBC (https://youtu.be/4-tOsNm8Iq8) regarding his vow of silence\, and will be on a speaking and interview tour following the vigil and march.
