To bring peace to a violent space. Disruptions can take place at a different time. \n2) Truck Drivers:\nThough we don’t respect what they are doing for a living\, let’s respect the drivers for giving us this time to show the world the plight of farmed animals. \n3) Slaughterhouse Workers:\nSome workers may try to taunt (though rarely anymore). Offer a wave or peace sign instead of a negative reaction. Break the cycle of violence. \n🙋‍ Keep Arms out of the truck: \nWe’ve experienced a few serious injuries from vigil attendees putting hands/arms into the truck. Please avoid the temptation to reach inside for the following reasons: \n1) The truck may suddenly move\, trapping/taking you with it. \n2) Pigs are extremely large and heavy beings. Though they may not intend to hurt\, a human arm may frighten them and simple movement can crush or break bones. Instead\, offer your hand just at the opening of the truck. Some pigs will choose to come to you and sniff/lick your hand. \n3) Fear. Many of these beings have not known kind human hands in the past. This may cause them stress. \n❤️🐷❤️ Thank you for your understanding and for coming to bear witness and to be their voice. Please bring a friend. They desperately need you.

Local actions and other news will be announced on this page so please check back and engage often! \nAbout Roses Law: \nOn September 29th\, 2018 a chicken named Rose was rescued from an Amazon-supplying factory farm in California. Direct Action Everywhere found Rose and nine other chickens who were in need of urgent care as the Sonoma County Police arrived on the farm. The police abducted nine of the birds who were then mercilessly killed by Sonoma County. One officer\, however\, did the right thing and instructed a rescuer to take Rose to get urgent care.\nMeanwhile\, all around the world\, animals are being exploited and killed and are being displaced or eradicated by us humans. Those of us who rescue animals or work to expose these injustices are facing felony charges and decades in prison while clear cases of criminal animal cruelty are ignored. Animals deserve the same basic rights that any of us do and it’s time for an animal bill of rights. In honor of Rose\, the nine birds who were killed by Sonoma County and trillions of other victims around the planet\, people everywhere are building support for Rose’s Law: An Animal Bill of Rights.

DESCRIPTION:All the caged animals at University of Toronto want for Christmas is to be free from exploitation\, not be tested on\, and to be released. \nThis campaign is a follow-up to our demo on November 20 at the president’s home. We are asking everyone to take a picture of themselves holding a sign with one of Toronto Anti-Vivisection Alliance’s demands for the school. \nWhen you mark yourself as attending this online event\, a TAVA member will send you a sign for you to take a picture with. Please post the picture in this event page ONLY on or before December 10. \nWe will ask you to post them to your social media on December 20 (a reminder will be sent) and TAVA will post a collage of them on the 21st. They will also be sent to all the heads of the research department at U of T as part of the mail-out portion of this campaign. \nParticipation must be confirmed by December 3 at the latest and photos must be posted HERE ONLY no later than December 10. \nStay tuned for details.
