SUMMARY:Lost Species Day: Celebrating Biodiversity & Remembering Lost Species
DESCRIPTION:LOST SPECIES DAY 10TH ANNIVERSARY: INTERDEPENDENCE \nLost Species Day was first held in November 2011. Since then\, thousands of people have taken part in a wide range of events exploring the stories of extinct and threatened species\, cultures and communities each year. Over the past decade the project has evolved\, with its advocates hoping for it to serve as an opportunity to learn about and respond to structural oppression and inequity\, as well as being a recurrent space for contemplating biodiversity loss and emotions arising. \nwww.lostspeciesday.org\nPlease tag @lostspeciesday on Instagram and use hashtags: #lostspeciesday #lostspeciesday2021 #extinction #decolonize

SUMMARY:Roses Law: Global Week of Action
DESCRIPTION:Activists from all over the world will be taking action to demand 5 fundamental rights for animals: Right to Rescue. Right to be Free\, not owned. Right to not be Killed by Humans. Right to Representation. Right to Home or habitat. \nSouth Korea\, Mexico City\, Chicago+Champaign\, Montevideo\, Phoenix\, Toronto\, and The Bay Area will be livestreaming their actions. So please RSVP GOING to this event page then\, share and invite friends. Local actions and other news will be announced on this page so please check back and engage often! \nAbout Roses Law: \nOn September 29th\, 2018 a chicken named Rose was rescued from an Amazon-supplying factory farm in California. Direct Action Everywhere found Rose and nine other chickens who were in need of urgent care as the Sonoma County Police arrived on the farm. The police abducted nine of the birds who were then mercilessly killed by Sonoma County. One officer\, however\, did the right thing and instructed a rescuer to take Rose to get urgent care.\nMeanwhile\, all around the world\, animals are being exploited and killed and are being displaced or eradicated by us humans. Those of us who rescue animals or work to expose these injustices are facing felony charges and decades in prison while clear cases of criminal animal cruelty are ignored. Animals deserve the same basic rights that any of us do and it’s time for an animal bill of rights. In honor of Rose\, the nine birds who were killed by Sonoma County and trillions of other victims around the planet\, people everywhere are building support for Rose’s Law: An Animal Bill of Rights.

SUMMARY:Nobis/Due West/Alex Furs Protest
DESCRIPTION:Launched in 2020\, Nobis is once again running damage control on its image through the #NoColdShoulder program\, donating $50 towards participating charities for every torture-enslavement-and-murder-filled jacket and overpriced beanie they sell throughout November. Reputation repair does not equal genuine corporate social responsibility and does not offset the horrors they inflict on animals. #NoColdShoulder? More like #ColdHeart. \nAfter paying a visit to Nobis\, we can drop by Due West as well as one of the city’s worst offenders…Alex Furs.

SUMMARY:#Voiceless4AnimalJustice 24 hours of Silence for Animals
DESCRIPTION:** Registration link below ** \nCanada isn’t a kind country for animals. Right now\, millions of animals are suffering at the hands of cruel industries that abuse them for food\, fashion\, entertainment\, & experiments. For the most part\, these animals suffer in silence\, behind closed doors. Their cries for help go ignored. \nJoin the movement to help create much-needed legal change for animals! \nSign up for #Voiceless4AnimalJustice 2021 & join animal advocates across the country in raising funds to support Animal Justice’s mission to transform Canada’s legal and political systems & give animals the legal protections they desperately need. \nOn November 6\, take a powerful 24-hour vow of silence for the animals who are silenced\, & post a photo on social media with a red X on your hand & over your mouth to let your friends\, family\, co-workers\, & followers know why you’re pledging to go voiceless for animals 🤫❌ \n** To join the event & to begin fundraising\, PLEASE REGISTER at this link: https://secure.qgiv.com/event/voiceless2021/ ** \nThank you so much for joining us for this year’s #Voiceless4AnimalJustice campaign\, & for all you do to make the world a better place for animals! 🙌

SUMMARY:Vigil for Rabbits and Chickens
DESCRIPTION:Join us on Friday\, November 5th to raise awareness to the plight of the rabbit\, chicken\, and other bird victims who are routinely abused and exploited in the animal agriculture system. \nThis slaughterhouse is located in rural Ontario and they don’t have fences. We will not be contacting them in advance to inform them of our event (which will remain on the public space of the side of the road) so they are not prepared to block our views with trailers (which they have been known to do in the past). This is why the location isn’t tagged in the event. Please refrain from tagging Abate Packers until after the event. \nThis is a peaceful demonstration\, not a disruption. We will not be stopping trucks or trespassing. If the opportunity to bear witness to the animals presents itself\, which we hope for\, we will do so peacefully. This event will take place rain or shine\, with the exception of thunderstorms. Please mark yourself “GOING” to be informed of any updates or additional information.
