Film Screening: Love & Bananas

October 4, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm
$13.15

Come and celebrate World Animal Day with us!
Join us for the Toronto premiere of “Love & Bananas,” a documentary about a 70-year-old Asian elephant called Noi Na being rescued from giving rides to tourists in Thailand.

Also featured in the film is Sangdeaun Lek Chailert, Founder of Save Elephant Foundation. She is an endlessly empathetic Thai woman who has devoted her life to saving Asian elephants. At one time, Lek was declared an enemy of the state and was estranged from her family. Later the government recognized Lek a the “Hero of Asia” as her work became internationally celebrated. In the film, she says, “You don’t need a bull hook to control an elephant. You can guide an elephant with love… And bananas.”

Depicting the endless cruelties perpetrated on these magnificent animals while delivering a moving feel-good story in the process, Love & Bananas: An Elephant Story is guaranteed to not leave a dry eye in the house. #Loveandbananas
