Indian Vegan Cooking Classes

Everybody loves Indian food. It is delicious and satisfying. In this 5 series of classes you will learn how to make Indian Vegan food using exotic spices and herbs.

When: The classes are every Saturday starting on January 7th 2017 and ending February 4th. Classes run from 2:00 pm till 4:00pm.

Description of classes:

Class 1 Saturday January 7th – In this class you will learn how to make appetizers like pakoras/fritters, vegan omelettes using chick pea flour and other snacks. We will also go over various spices and herbs that are used in an Indian kitchen.

Class 2 Saturday January 14th – In this class you will learn how to make delicious wet and dry curries using local vegetables as well as traditional Indian vegetables.

Class 3 Saturday January 21st – This class is all about making Indian breads like rotis and puris using different types of flours including whole grain. I will also show you how to make flatbreads which are wheat free and have low glycemic index.

Class 4 Saturday January 28th – Learn how to make protein rich lentils also called daals. We will go over various types of daals and beans used in India. I will go over how long to soak the lentils and how soaking increases nutritional value of vitamins and minerals of the lentils.

Class 5 Saturday February 4th – You will learn how to cook various rice dishes like plain basmati rice, Khichadi and vegetable rice pulao.

You will get easy to follow recipes, quick cooking tips and nutritional facts about various foods. Please be aware these are not gluten free, nut free classes.

About parking: It is paid parking on Roncesvalles ave, however there is plenty of free parking on the side streets.
